Though we cannot guarantee that the Program’s participants will be hired, by our team, or other publishing professionals, it is our hope that the skills they develop during this mentorship will help pave the way for a successful career in audiobook narration.Ĭurrently, we are a bicoastal team of 20 audiobook producers, with over 150 years of combined experience. We believe that publishing and casting should be entirely inclusive, and our hope is that the mentees who emerge from this Program will be representative of that belief. By highlighting each individual’s strengths, while also encouraging a broad reach across genres, we hope to widen the playing field for every actor who participates in the Program. Working across multiple genres, mentees will have the opportunity to produce a demo sample, as well as prepare for and complete an audio audition. Through individual coaching sessions, mentees will be guided by their mentors, immersing themselves in the audiobook world and learning how to navigate it successfully. Over a six-month period, mentees will forge a close relationship with their mentors and acquire a deeper understanding of the intricacies of audiobook production. The Penguin Random House Audio Narrator Mentorship Program is an initiative for actors new to audiobooks, offering them the opportunity to work closely with our team of producers to strengthen their craft and gain industry knowledge.
